The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) organises the Upcycling Project annually under its Community Service Partnership Scheme (CSPS). The initiative brings together volunteers from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and The University of Hong Kong, working alongside URA staff to improve the living conditions of residents in old urban districts. Together, they design and create custom-made furniture tailored to meet the specific needs of these households.

In collaboration with the Hong Kong Christian Service (HKCS), the programme also offers decluttering and living space redesign services to the beneficiary families, further enhancing their quality of life and extending the project’s positive impact.
