The exhibition features four major themes: ‘Trade and Transport’, ‘Ancestral Halls and Walled Villages’, ‘Temples and Communities’ and ‘Administration in the New Territories’. Through these themes, the exhibitor introduces the unique heritage of Tai Po District, including declared monuments, archaeological sites and historic buildings, along with the historical, cultural and artistic significance they embody. The display of historical records, photographs and a series of videos enables visitors to deepen their understanding and enhance their interest in the diversified heritage of Hong Kong and the efforts to conserve them.
